Margaret McLaughlin retired to Colorado 4 years ago from her role as Provost at Carlow University in Pittsburgh, PA. Prior to this position she served as Dean of Health Professions at St. Catherine University in the Twin Cities, MN. Prior to these administrative roles, she spent 25 years as a biomedical researcher, her last position was as Associate Director of Magee-Womens Research Institute at the University of Pittsburgh. Margaret has a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland followed by a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Wisconsin. She graduated from Rutgers’s, the State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science.
Margaret joined the board of the Early College of Arvada in 2020. She is passionate about learning and believes that given the opportunity and proper environment, all students can learn. The mission and values of the Early College are a perfect fit to her professional background and personal commitments.
Margaret’s family has all relocated to Colorado in the past 5 years. They include her spouse Joe, 2 grandchildren, a son, daughter-in-law and daughter. She is an amateur watercolorist, a hiker and a very busy grandmother.
