PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION COLLECTED BY THE EARLY COLLEGE OF ARVADA

ECA is committed to protecting the confidentiality of student data obtained, created and maintained by the school. We ensure that our school policies and practices are in compliance with the Colorado Student Data Transparency and Security Act (HB 16-1423) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). In addition to the data collected by the Colorado Department of Education, ECA generally collects and maintains the following on its data systems:

ECA uses the data from the above list to provide quality education for its students in order to meet our mission of opening pathways to opportunities for parents and families. We also provide this data inventory and dictionary of data elements published by the state Board of Education.

ECA also shares necessary personally identifiable information with a carefully vetted list of Contract Providers using the most secure data transfer methods in accordance with current industry best practices. In addition, we are providing a list of On-Demand Providers using click-through contracts that include online tools used by
students and teachers in the classroom. Privacy policies and conditions of use have been vetted by ECA staff to ensure no student PII is used or shared in any way that would violate the Colorado Student Data Transparency and Security Act.

PUBLIC NOTICE:  In accordance with the Colorado Student Data Transparency and Security Act, C.R.S. Section 22-16- 101 et seq., please be advised that if Weld Re-8 School ceases using or refuses to use a School Service On-Demand Provider pursuant to C.R.S. 22-16- 107 (3) (c), Weld Re-8 School District  shall post on its website the name of the On-Demand provider, with any written response that the on-Demand Provider may submit, and will notify the Colorado Department of Education, which will post on its website the On-Demand Provider’s name and any written response.
