At ECA, the teachers work hard to meet the needs of their students. One of the teachers, Erica Gross, was inspired by a graduate school professor at the University of Colorado to start co-teaching this year. She worked with the administration and staff to create a math and English class that was taught by two teachers. One of the teachers specializes in Special Education and meeting the needs of students with disabilities while the other teacher in the room specializes in the content area (math or English). The teachers both get to teach during the lesson, and it provides a great way for students with disabilities to access the same material as their peers.

I have really enjoyed co-teaching this year and learning more from my co-workers. It has been great to plan lessons together and to learn from one other daily.
