In 8th grade science we just finished our earth, moon and seasons unit, one of my favorite units to teach. We discussed what causes night and day, how the different phases of the moon occur, what causes tides, and why we have seasons. We used models, demos, and of course, the classic notebook. After the completion of this unit, we took our test.
Making mistakes is all part of the learning process, and reflection on these mistakes is what makes learning permanent. After our earth, moon and seasons test, 8th grade has the opportunity to fix their mistakes, gain lost knowledge, and get back a few lost points. SSM is a prime time to do this … with a few antics to keep everyone sharp of course.
Good job, students! Enjoy your weekend!
