Mobile Device Policy
Our driving goals are your education and putting you on a direct track to college and success. Mobile device use during the day is a huge distraction from these goals, and allowing it is not worth the price of your future. For our purposes here, mobile devices are cell phones, iPod Touches, iPads and other tablets, or any other internet connected device.
- Students may not use their mobile devices at school between 8:00 and 3:30.
- All students who bring mobile devices to school are expected to power them completely off upon entering the building. Do not simply silence them. You must power them completely off.
- If you have a locker, you must store your device in your locker and leave it there until the school day ends at 3:30. You may not turn it on to check it when visiting your locker or during lunch, breaks, or study periods.
- If you do not have a locker, you may keep your device in a pocket, backpack, or purse, but the device must remain completely powered off during the day. Again, do not simply silence it. You must power them completely off. You may not turn it on to check it during lunch, breaks, or study periods, even when outdoors on the grounds.
First Violation: The mobile device will be taken away and stored in the office. The student may retrieve it at the end of the day.
Second Violation: The mobile device will be taken away, and the parent/guardian will be notified. Parent/guardian must pick it up the device from the office.
Third Violation: The mobile device will be taken away and not allowed back at school for the remainder of the school year.
In case of a family emergency, parents and guardians are always able to contact our office staff in order to reach their student. Thank you for understanding.
