Sunshine State born and raised. My dream came true loading up my SUV and heading west to continue my dream career. Leaving behind my large Hispanic family wasn't easy. As a 3rd generation Cuban descendent, I enjoy large family parties, rice and beans, and dancing salsa until the sunrise. As my high school sweetheart and I embark on this new journey we look forward to exploring Colorado. I plan to spend my time hiking, whitewater rafting, skiing, and snowboarding.
Why I Teach
When I was a child, I recall organizing my neighborhood friends to play school. I was always the teacher. Marc Anthony once said, "If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life." As I began my professional journey, this was a critical point in the identification of my professional path. Being a lifelong learner, I began my educational career at Miami Dade College changing majors five times but ultimately returning to teaching, my original major. Throughout my journey as an educator, I have worked with various students, witnessing their growth, success, and "Aha!" moments, all priceless rewards for my interminable efforts. Having my students return each year to share their success stories demonstrates how, through teaching, I have touched students' lives.
