In the Heights January 19 - 28
The Timbergriffen theater company will perform this show by Lin Manuel Miranda (he wrote Hamilton). This story, about a Latino neighborhood in New York, explores first generation college students, Latin culture, racism, love and loss. Enjoy fantastic music and dance as we celebrate our Latin side this January!

Coffee with Director Series
One of our key goals at ECA is to increase the involvement of parents in the school and to empower them to be active participants in their child’s education. To facilitate this goal we want to ensure that parents have regular opportunities to engage with the ECA’s Director and Staff.
During the 17-18 school year, we will be hosting a monthly Coffee with the Director series, where parents can come in, enjoy a cup of coffee and light breakfast, and have the opportunity to meet with the Director and members of the ECA staff.
Each month will have a designated topic and a set of guest staff members that will be in attendance based on what the topic of the month is. We will also reserve time for open conversation on any topic or questions that are of interest to parents.
We sincerely hope to see you at our First Friday Coffee with the Director series and look forward to meaningful conversation and dialogue.
The Early College of Arvada will be holding a college orientation to provide students and families with more information about our concurrent enrollment program. The College Orientation will be held on Thursday 8/17 from 6pm-7:30pm.
All 10th graders, any other students taking college level classes for the first time, and their parents will be required to attend this orientation session prior to taking college level coursework at ECA. Students and parents will only need to participate in this required orientation one time.
The orientation is designed to familiarize students and families with ECA’ s early college program and it’s goals. The orientation will provide an overview of ECA’s concurrent enrollment policies and includes Q & A opportunities for parents and students. The orientation will provide support for families to complete the student concurrent enrollment contract. The orientation will also help define the factors that are likely to produce student success in college level coursework and provide students and families with information about the supports in place to assist students taking college level classes.
The orientation will include presentations from ECA staff, board members, alumni, and representatives from our higher education partners.
